Region VII is part of the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH), encompassing the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming. NSH has eight regions in the United States and the ninth region is Canada. Each region has a regional director which serves on the Board of Directors (BOD) along with the NSH Officers. NSH is a non-profit organization which is committed to the advancement of histotechnology, its practitioners and quality standards of practice through leadership, education and advocacy.
Regional VII has three organized state histology societies. We rotate among the state societies with one state naming their yearly state meetings the regional meeting for that year. The travel distance is too far to have a regional meeting as some of the regions do in the Eastern United States.
